The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for entrance to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses in terms of Section 10 of  the Indian Medical Council Act,  1956 as amended in 2018 shall be conducted by the National Board  of Examinations.

SCOPE OF NEET-PG 2018 :

NEET-PG 2018 shall be a single eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses’ for the academic session 2018 which will include the following:

 All India 50% quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)

State quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for all States/Union territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana & Jammu & Kashmir)

MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at all Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the country.

 MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.

 DNB Broad specialty courses (January 2018 Admission Session)

The examination shall be held in 128 cities on 7th January, 2018

The examination shall be held as a Computer Based Test and shall comprise of 300 Multiple Choice Questions from the MBBS curriculum  followed  at  medical  colleges  in  India  duly  prescribed  as  per  the  Graduate  Medical  Education Regulation notified by Medical Council of India with prior approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. 
NEET-PG  is  a  single  window  entrance  examination  for  entry  to  MD/MS/Post  Diploma  courses.    No  other examination  either  at  state  level  or  institutional level  entrance  examination  conducted  by  medical  colleges /institutions shall be valid as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 with effect from 2017 admission session.
The website for NEET - PG shall be available with effect from 24/09/2016 and online registration for the NEET-PG  shall  commence  from    on  31/10/2017  till  27/11/2017  (23:59hrs).    The  entire  procedure  for registration and application for the examination is online.

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both –Preliminary and Main examinations)
There  will be  penalty  for  wrong answers  marked in the  Objective  Tests. For each question for  which a  wrong answer  has  been  given  by  the  candidate  one  fourth  or  0.25  of  the  marks  assigned  to  that  question  will  be deducted  as penalty  to  arrive  at  corrected  score.  If  a  question  is  left  blank,  i.e.  no  answer  is  marked  by  the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
CUTOFF SCORE (Online Main Examination)
Each  candidate  will  be  required  to  obtain  a  minimum  score  in the  test  of
Online  Main  examination  and  also secure sufficiently  high  scores to  be  considered  to  be  shortlisted  for  interview.  Depending  on  the  number  of vacancies  available,  cut-offs  will  be  decided  and  candidates  will  be  shortlisted  for  interview.  Prior  to  the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the online Main examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.
INTERVIEW
Candidates who have been shortlisted in the examination for CWE SPL-VII will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time and date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from authorised IBPS website www.ibps.in. Please note that any request regarding change in date,centre etc. of interview will not be entertained. However the conducting agencies reserve the right to change the date/ venue/ time/ centre etc. of interview or hold supplementary process for particular date /session / venue / centre / set of candidates at its discretion, under unforeseen circumstances, if any. 
The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum score required in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of Online CWE (SPL-VII) and interview will be 80:20. The weightage (ratio) of Online CWE (Main Exam) and interview will be 80:20 respectively.
The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of total scores obtained by the candidates in the Online Main Examination of CWE-SPL-VII and Interview. A candidate should found suitable both in the CWE and interview to be shortlisted for subsequent allotment process, details of which will be available subsequently on IBPS website.

Admission to these courses at NIFT is done on the basis of the performance of the candidates in a written test and Situation test/GD/Interviews.
The written exam consists of two to four  tests namely General Ability Test (GAT), Creative Ability Test (CAT), Managerial Ability Test and Situation Test depending on the programmes for which the candidates have applied.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

Based on the choice, all eligible candidates will have to appear for a written entrance examination at the Examination Centres opted by them. The written entrance examination is designed to test the knowledge, skill and aptitude of the candidates for the programme opted.

Candidates should reach the examination center at least 30 minutes before the start of the examination.

The result of the entrance examination will be displayed on the NIFT website.
On the basis of result of written test GAT and CAT, B.Des candidates will be called for second test called Situation Test.

For B.F.Tech., GAT will be the final test for selection .The candidates for M.Des will take GAT and CAT. On the basis of result of GAT and CAT, in case of M.Des. and GAT in case of M.F Tech and MFM, candidates will be called for Group Discussion/ Personal Interview.

The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria for admission. Their admission at all the stages of the examination for which they are admitted by NIFT viz. Written Test, Situation Test, Group Discussion and Interview (as the case may be) will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after the Written Test, Situation Test, Group Discussion and Interview (as the case may be), it is found that candidate does not fulfill any eligibility criteria, his/her candidature for the examination shall stand cancelled without any notice or further reference. NIFT shall not be liable for any consequences on account of such cancellations.

In this section candidates needs to focus more on selected scoring topics like Spoting the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Idioms & Phrases, Active and Passive Voice, Sentence Improvement, Miss Spelt Words, One Word Substitution, English Comprehension, Cloze Test.You have to improve grammar as well vocabulary part  and more time to on Antonym & Synonyms.

4. General Awareness :

General Awareness is the important section of the exam because you can score more marks in less time. This section is quite vast and requires a more amount of time. In recent time xat ask number of questions from General Science section. so candidates can focus more study of General Science. The strategy to prepare for this section is to practice the previous years’ question papers. In this sections questions are to be ask from History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Current Affairs.

Time Management for xat mock exam:

You need to save time for English and GK, as much question you attempt in Maths, that will be beneficial for you. Prepare a time map of which section you are going to solve first then the second, third and fourth. Emphasise more on a section that you are more comfortable with and solve it first. 

Remember Some Basic Facts which is helpful in any competitive exam:-

I. First of all try to understand what questions say? If you understand the question, you can easily give the right answer for that question. So you should have to read the question carefully.

 II. Everytime tries to solve questions with proper formulas and shortcut tricks. As time is most importantant part your Exam.

III. As there is negative marking – So try to attempt those questions which you have sure as there is a negative marking  for every wrong answer and so you are advised to be careful in answering the questions in exam and Don’t try to attempt all questions.

IV. Most important doesn’t waste your time on a particular question. Always give proper time for all the questions. Always attempt first those questions which you will answer quickly then try to attempt for others. As you should remember time is a most important key to success in compatative exam.

V. Most Important Formula or Rule to Success in any exam- “Practice makes perfect “. So you need to practice lots of questions and Mock test for xat Logical reasoning and Decision Making, Quantitative Aptitude according to syllabus.
