COMMON PROFICIENCY TEST (CPT)

It is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course. It is a test of four subjects i.e. Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. This test is of 200 marks. This test is divided into two sessions of two hours each. CPT is an objective type test with negative marking.

Eligibility

A student who has passed the 12th standard examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto may register for Common Proficiency Test.

How to apply for admission to the CPT Course An application for admission to Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is required to apply on-line at http://icaiexam.icai.org from 4th April, 2018 to 26th April, 2018(without late fees) and upto 3rd May, 2018 (with Late Fees of Rs 600/- for Indian & Kathmandu Centres and $10 for Foreign Centres).
The exam fee is required to be submitted on-line by using either VISA or MASTER Credit / Debit Card / Rupay Card / Net Banking.
The fees payable for the Common Proficiency Test is Rs.1000/-for centres in India, Rs.1700/- for centres in Kathmandu (Nepal)and $ 300/- for centres in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai & Muscat

The subject Hindi/Sanskrit is compulsory for Modern Office Practice (Hindi) and the candidate should have Pass marks in this subject without considering grace marks.
4. For candidates applying for Pharmacy
Minimum Eligibility is
The candidate should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class-XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other examination recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate exam of the CBSE with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry & either Biology or Mathematics .The subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology are compulsory and the candidate should have pass marks in these subjects without considering grace marks. As per directions issued by the Pharmacy Council of India vide their letter No. 14-2/2007-PCI-13143, dated 27.12.2007, the candidates who have appeared/passed through National Institute of Open Schooling shall not be considered for admission.
