COMMON PROFICIENCY TEST (CPT)

It is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course. It is a test of four subjects i.e. Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. This test is of 200 marks. This test is divided into two sessions of two hours each. CPT is an objective type test with negative marking.

  • Commencement of Online filling of CPT Examination Form : 4th April, 2018
  • Last date & time for filling the form and making payment without Late Fee through already created Login:  26th April 2018
  • Date of commencement of Examination: 17th June 2018

Eligibility

A student who has passed the 12th standard examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto may register for Common Proficiency Test.

How to apply for admission to the CPT Course
An application for admission to Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is required to apply on-line at http://icaiexam.icai.org from 4th April, 2018 to 26th April, 2018(without late fees) and upto 3rd May, 2018 (with Late Fees of Rs 600/- for Indian & Kathmandu Centres and $10 for Foreign Centres).
The exam fee is required to be submitted on-line by using either VISA or MASTER Credit / Debit Card / Rupay Card / Net Banking.
The fees payable for the Common Proficiency Test is Rs.1000/-for centres in India, Rs.1700/- for centres in Kathmandu (Nepal)and $ 300/- for centres in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai & Muscat

The exam is conducted twice in a year in month of June and December

1. Candidates passing /qualifying class 10th under the grading system should have obtained minimum pass grade in the compulsory subjects i.e., Science, Mathematics and English without being upgraded

2. For candidates applying for Modern Office Practice (English)
Minimum Eligibility is
The candidate should have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi in any stream of 10+2 (Academic) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of best three subjects including English The subject English is compulsory for Modern Office Practice (English) and the candidate should have obtained pass marks in this subject without considering grace marks.

3. For candidates applying for Modern Office Practice (Hindi)
Minimum Eligibility is
The candidate should have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi in any stream of 10+2 (Academic) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of best three subjects including Hindi/ Sanskrit. The subject Hindi/Sanskrit is compulsory for Modern Office Practice (Hindi) and the candidate should have Pass marks in this subject without considering grace marks.

4. For candidates applying for Pharmacy
Minimum Eligibility is
The candidate should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class-XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other examination recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate exam of the CBSE with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry & either Biology or Mathematics .The subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology are compulsory and the candidate should have pass marks in these subjects without considering grace marks. As per directions issued by the Pharmacy Council of India vide their letter No. 14-2/2007-PCI-13143, dated 27.12.2007, the candidates who have appeared/passed through National Institute of Open Schooling shall not be considered for admission.

5. For candidates applying for Lateral Entry for 10+2 (Vocational Stream)/ITI Pass out to the second year/3rd semester of full time diploma courses in Automobile Engg., Electrical Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg., Mechanical Engg., Printing Technology, Production Engg.
Minimum Eligibility is
The candidate should have passed analogous 12th Vocational (Engg) stream of CBSE or equivalent from Schools located only in Delhi with minimum 60% marks in
aggregate of best five subjects for which marks are reflected in the mark sheet, without considering grace marks in these best five subjects
Or
Passed 10th class of CBSE or equivalent + 2 years ITI(Engg) from ITI s/ITCs located only in Delhi and affiliated to DGE and T/BTE, Delhi with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all subjects reflected in the mark sheet, without considering grace marks

Physical Fitness
The applicant must be in good mental and physical health and should be free from any physical defects likely to interfere with active outdoor duties. One should satisfy the standards of physical fitness as laid down at the time of admission.
