This year BPSC release official notification for the 64th CCE 2018. This recruitment examination is conducted to filling various posts in departments/ministries under the Bihar government. This recruitment exam also known as Bihar Provincial Civil Service (PCS) Exam or Bihar Civil Services Exam, it’s highly competitive recruitment examination. There are 3 modes of selection, prelims, main, interviews.

BPSC Prelims Exam Pattern: The prelims exam is conducted through offline mode, 120 minutes 150 marks multiple choice question papers. 

BPSE Main Exam Pattern: The BPSC main exam consists of 4 papers as follows:

Candidate requires scoring 30% minimum mark in Hindi, however; these marks will not be considered while preparing the final merit list.

BPSC Interview: The list of candidates who qualify the Main examination is published on the official website. These candidates are called for the interview round. The final merit list is prepared after considering the marks of main exam and interview round.

BPSC Preliminary Exam Syllabus: BPSC CCE Preliminary exam syllabus includes topics such as

  1. Current Events of National and International importance
  2. General Science
  3. History of India and salient features of history of Bihar, General geography and geographical division of Bihar and its major river systems
  4. Indian Polity and Economy
  5. Major changes in the economy of Bihar post-independence
  6. Indian National Movement and contribution of Bihar
  7. Questions from General Mental Ability.
 

BPSC Main Exam Syllabus
  1. Hindi – The paper will comprise of questions on essay writing (30 marks), grammar (30 marks), sentence syntax (25 marks), and précis-writing/summary (15 marks). Questions will be of the Secondary Level of Bihar School Examination Board.
  2. General Studies (Paper I) – Current events of national and international importance, the modern history of India and Indian culture, and statistical analysis, graphs & diagrams
  3. General Studies (Paper II) – Indian Polity, India Economy and Geography of India, and the role and impact of science and technology in the development of India.
  4. Optional Subject – Candidates have to select from one of the optional subjects for this paper. The detailed syllabus for each subject is available on the official website.
